Pennsylvania / Health Insurance Question?

So I am Bipolar. I take Lamictal 100 Mg, Prozac 40 mg, and Klonopin 0.5 mg three times a day. The Lamictal is the most expensive along with the therapy appointments and Psychiatrist appointments. I bettled with depression for 5 years when 3 months ago we finally realized it was Bipolar Disorder not depression and thats why I never got better. Now I am feeling better than ever. Im still not completely there yet but I am getting there. My problem is that I am 22 going to be 23 in July, and a Junior in College. Im covered under my mothers insurance until im 23 cause im a student but after that I'm dropped. Theres no way myself or my family can afford my mental health care after June. Anyone else have had this situation or any ideas on what I can do, I don't want to go back to the way I felt before cause I think that might cause some serious damage.

I think you should tell your concerns to your psychiatrist. He/she may know what types of aid are available for you.

Court Limits Patient Billing for ER Care

California's high court ruled that emergency-room patients can no longer be billed by doctors and hospitals for care that isn't fully paid by their health plans.

The court on Thursday struck down a practice known as "balance billing," in which doctors and hospitals seek to collect from patients any amounts that their managed-care plans refuse to pay. Instead, the providers must either absorb the costs themselves, or get the insurance companies to pay.

Balance billing is controversial because patients are sometimes hit with emergency-room bills because they go to the nearest hospital or other medical facility regardless of whether it accepts their insurance. Health-care providers argue that they need some way to guarantee that they can be paid for their services.

In its decision, the California Supreme Court overturned a lower-court ruling and found that billing disputes over emergency medical care must be resolved solely between providers and health plans.
