How does one go about getting Business Insurance (state of Ohio, City of Hamilton)>?

My wife is going to be starting a Psychology private Practice LLC in the state of Ohio, Butler County, city of Hamilton. She has already obtained malpractice insurance, but she also needs business insurance. So, my questions are:
Does the Agent that sells me my homeowners and car insurance sell business insurance as well, or is there a specialized Agent we will need to contact?
Are there any Web price comparison/online Application sites that can be used for business insurance?

Answers from anyone with knowledge on the subject is appreciated!

It's possible you current "all purpose" agent can help you but you really would benefit by getting an agent experienced in the advanced business markets. The average agent may run across two or three of this kind of situation a year. The specially trained and focused agent often handles hundreds of these. Kind of like choosing which level of experience you want for your surgeon. Look for the credential of either ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) or CFP (Certified Financial Planner) behind their name. This kind of business insurance is a pretty narrow and sophisticated market so I know of no internet sites where you can go. You can however do a search for qualified insurance agents in your area. Even a new clueless agent can get help and muddle through this but if you can get a pro, I would. Good luck with the new practice.

question about ohio business owner applying for unemployment insurance?

i have a few questions about the process by which a business applies for unemployment insurance, especially for ohio.

i know that there is generally an underwriting process behind all insurance policies. is there an underwriting process involved in unemployment insurance that is similar to the underwriting of other policies?

for example, would a state accept an employer's application for unemployment insurance if said employer does not have company rules and regulations in place (e. g., ethics and compliance, code of conduct, etc)? after all, if he does not have an established set of rules for the employees to abide by, wouldn't this make him a high risk insured by virtue of the fact that the state's unemployment department would be at greater risk of granting unemployment benefits to a terminated employee, thus making him susceptible to a higher premium?

if so, there must be a set of prequalifying underwriting questions that are asked of the employer before their insurance rate is established.

does anyone know where i can find more information on this? thanks in advance.

burninghole, For auto insurance the quick method to get a free quote is do a policy comparison. Be sure to choose the same coverage amounts, you can get an accurate quote to compare against others. Use the same zipcode, car make and model, mileage and driving history to ensure you get accurate comparison. To get mulitple auto insurance quotes, go to http://www.easyautoinsuranceguide.com/Ohio-Car-Insurance.html and you can compare the major auto insurance companies.

Adult day cares are growing and thriving. Adult day cares typically are an alternative to traditional nursing homes, and service is aimed to be more personal and cost is more affordable. The aging of the baby boomers is ensuring that this business has high demand. Typical clientele include elderly men and women who cannot live safely in their own homes, but do not require the full-time skilled nursing care provided by convalescent hospitals. They are looking for minimal supervision and assistance -- as well as companionship -- in order to live independently as possible.

Health Insurance Options and COBRA For Unemployed - HULIQ

Employer based health insurance provides coverage for tens of millions of Americans. Unfortunately, many employees will be without coverage if they lose their job, quit, retire or if their company goes out of business. In most cases, an employee can elect COBRA upon losing employment. The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act will provide 18 months of additional coverage so long as the group consisted of 20 or more employees. In Ohio, if the group is under 20 employees COBRA allows for up to six months of coverage. This law is sometimes referred to as "Baby COBRA."

There are certain rules regarding who is eligible to elect COBRA and what the cost will be, but in all cases COBRA is temporary insurance for the insured. In addition, the expense to the former employee can be significant. Ultimately, the cost will be determined by the premiums for the former plan plus a 2% administrative fee. Former employees are often surprised to discover how much it will cost to elect their company insurance through COBRA.
