I I have loya care Insurance from Texas Is this good for traveling to Canada ?

I have a local Insurance Do I need to change it
check the fine print, most companies say they cover you out of your home country, but they only cover a small percentage. For example, i recently traveled to thailand and my blue cross policy said it would cover me overseas. technically they did, but they failed to mention they would only cover 30% of what they covered in the states. You should get a short term travel medical policy for your stay in Canada. They are cheap and can really save your butt if you get sick or hurt.

I have a home/mail/bills in Texas, but want to keep a car in California. How do I handle tags/insurance/DL?
Jul 27, 2006 by ALCORisHOPE | Posted in Insurance
I visit and sometimes do jobs in California for my employer, based in New Jersey. I just bought a home in Texas, but will be traveling alot to California, although I work everywhere (multiple states). I would like to keep a car in California, not garaged anyplace, maybe sitting at the airport or roadside. How do I handle licensing, tags, insurance? If I live in Texas, have a Texas license, and Texas plates, can I get insurance? What happens if a California police officer stops me?
You should consider an occasional use short-term lease from a car rental company in California.
Under your scenario you would have to license and register and insure the car in Texas. But since it would be sitting unguarded in California...the loss exposure is very, very high and you would pay astronomical rates for comprehensive (which covers stuff like storm loss, burglary, etc.).
You would be better off just to keep one car in Texas and when you go to California just get a short term lease. That way you can give it back when you are done and not have to worry about obligations.

You can easily get travel insurance from Insure for all (http://www.insureforall.com/) who specialise in providing travel insurance for those aged 65 and above. They have won awards for the cover and service they provide and I use them for my parents often.
I did a quote for you based on a trip for 31 days and it comes up to £156.49. Visit the site for more information or if you prefer you can speak to them directly on 0845 8800694. Enjoy your trip.

Military, veterans pay and benefit ‘stocking stuffers’ - New Bern Sun Journal
10.01.09
Readers familiar with this column know it typically focuses on a single news development affecting a lot of military people or veterans. The strength of that approach is that a critical issue can be covered pretty well. Sometimes, however, there are waves of news requiring a "round up" approach. In the spirit of the season, we'll call these "stocking stuffers" but some items here are important enough to win a place under the tree. TRICARE RESERVE PREMIUMS FALL - Monthly premiums for drilling reserve personnel enrolled in TRICARE Reserve Select will drop by 44 percent for individual coverage and by 29 percent for families on Jan. 1. TRS premiums for individuals will fall to $47.51 a month, down from $81. Family coverage will be $180.17 instead of $253. Why the drop? Congress established TRS in 2005 with the intent to set premiums high enough to cover the government's cost to offer a health insurance option to drilling Reserve and National Guard members. Until the program ran for a while, however, there was cost data on which to set premiums. Therefore, Defense officials set TRS premiums to match the federal government's cost if it offered Blue Cross/Blue Shield coverage.
