i am a selfemployed i need to get good medical insurance i am at Seattle Washington?

Here is some info on the above mentioned policy:

Mega (NASE) deductible is per confinement, which means if you go into the hospital 3 times in one year you have 3 deductibles to meet.

Lifetime maximum for Mega is $1 Million. Regular major medical plans are $2 to $8 Million.
Mega has an annual maximum per illness of $500,000. Most Major medical have NO annual maximums.

Depending upon the policy, Mega will only pay UP to $500 per day if you are admitted to the hospital. Average daily cost - $3000, Average stay – Three days. For the average hospital stay MEGA will pay up to $1500, you will pay $7500.

Depending upon the policy, Mega will only pay UP to $1500 per day if you are in ICU. Average cost - $8000, Average stay – Two days. For the average ICU stay MEGA will pay up to $4500, you will pay $11,500. Since most people (unless they’re dead) have a hospital stay after the ICU stay you can add in the above figures.

Doctor visits while you are in the hospital is limited to $50 per visit and limited to ONE visit per day. Average cost - $120, Average number of daily visits – TWO. For the average 3 day hospital stay MEGA will pay $150, you will pay $570.

Ambulance transport is limited to $250 per trip and payable only if you are admitted to the hospital. If you are transported to the ER and not admitted - no benefits. The average cost for ambulance - $1000. For the ambulance (if you are admitted to the hospital) MEGA will pay $250, you will pay $750. For the ambulance (if you are NOT admitted to the hospital) MEGA will pay $0, you will pay $1000.

Air ambulance is not covered unless additional rider purchased. Maximum benefits with Mega are $3500. Average cost - $12,000. Your bill - $8500.

Many other limitations for: miscellaneous hospital inpatient charges, inpatient and outpatient surgery, routine physicals, anesthesiologist and more. Plus you have to pay the expensive yearly dues.

Most regular policies do not have these limitations. If you go into the hospital everything is covered after you pay your ONE deductible and co-insurance.

I live in Washington. I don't have medical insurance and I am pregnant. Where do I go?

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over 2 1/2 years. He got a new job and we will not be getting insurance for another 9 weeks. I am 11 weeks pregnant now and I really want to go see a doctor to make sure everything is going alright. I am considered high risk because my daughter was nine weeks early and my son was 4 weeks early. I have never been uninsured and pregnant so I am not sure where to go or who to call. Plus I don't really want to go get a new doctor in 2 and a half months when I get insurance. What should I do?
And ideas would help? Thank you!

Go to your local Social Services office (welfare office/department of families and children.. whatever its called in your area). Most states have programs for pregnant women who are eligible. Plus the medicade plans have doctors who are just about in any other popular plan too so when your husband gets his insurance, you could transfer over also if that doctor is in his plan.

Also you can go to the free clinic in your area... another option is planned parenthood. http://www.plannedparenthood.org is the website you can go to to get a center in your zip code or area.

Good luck! and congrats!

I have no medical insurance where can i get medical help for my copd in the Bellingham area Washington St?

In need of medical help but cant pay for it

Contact your county Public Assistance office (Welfare office). Most areas have clinics that treat the uninsured for free or on a sliding scale basis. You can't afford NOT to get medical help. You may even be eligible for SSI or Medicaid, depending on the severity of your COPD.

Study: COBRA costly for Hoosiers - Indianapolis Star

"COBRA health coverage is great in theory and lousy in reality," said Ron Pollack, executive director of Families USA.

Individual COBRA coverage in Indiana averaged $376 a month, or about 29 percent of the monthly unemployment benefit paid to a single person.

The nation's unemployment rate hit 7.2 percent in December, a 16-year high. Pollack said many who lose their jobs are likely to join the ranks of the uninsured.

During a conference call to discuss the report Friday, Pollack suggested the need for government-provided premium subsidies or temporary coverage through Medicaid, a health insurance program operated by states.

Many states, though, are facing budget cutbacks. Gov. Mitch Daniels' proposed budget for 2010-11 includes a 2 percent funding cut for Medicaid. But Pollack said it may be possible for expanded coverage to come from the federal stimulus aid being discussed.

For now, those who lose their jobs and are eligible for COBRA must weigh their options carefully, said Joseph Guzman, an Indianapolis insurance broker.
