Any Creative Marketing ideas for Auto/home insurance in California?

I've been trying lots of new ideas for marketing my insurance business. I do flyers, internet advertising and more. What made you chose your insurance agent? What sorts of things are important to you, (other than price)? What sort of promotions would you be interested in seeing?
Since I am no longer in the Personal Sales line of insurance I am willing to give up what was successful for me. I am lunch and learn seminars to different business on insurance. In order to gain x-dates and further interest from potential clients I held a raffle at the lunch and learn with cards asking for their current home/auto carrier and x-dates. I got more bang for my buck. I would go into a business (realestate agency/mtg broker) and ask them if I could give a free insurance seminar on a topic I thought they would find interesting. A biggy right now is Identity Theft. I would take no longer than 45 min while they were eating lunch and give my seminar then after stay for questions. It is amazing how many leads you can get in a one time seminar. The real estate agents not only gave me their business but referred clients to me. Good luck and really just have fun with it. If you are in insurance sales you are more than likely a people person so enjoy. If you like golf like I did sponsoring a hole in a golf tournaments is also allot of fun and money well worth the spend.

Is this normal for home insurance?

I have AAA-California home insurance and we had an incident yesterday involving a squirrel and our fire suppression sprinkler lines. AAA says they only cover the damage caused (carpets, sheetrock, moisture, etc.) by the squirrel eating through the lines, but will not cover the cost of repairing the lines. Is this standard for all home insurance, or do I just have a crappy policy?
The sprinkler lines are in my attic.
It is standard. I once had a toilet leak all downstairs and ruined the carpet, etc., They covered the damage, not the toilet!

Time to renew and I need to start shopping around.
House is worth 1.4 mil. I'm having a hard time with ins. bec.even though it was built in 1927, I purchased it completely remodeled and refurbished with everything up to date however I dont have the paperwork for the work done from the previous owners to provide for the insurance compan stating so.
Century National! They are the cheapest and you can get an instant quote online!!
I shopped around for mine and they have been the cheapest I know of for the past 7 years :)

Just ask an agent. “We do write quite a few flood policies. We’ve had several inquiries. They’re saying they don’t have it, but they’d like to buy it,” Becky Wingstrand, office manager at AE Long Insurance in Puyallup, said Friday. Her office, like many in the region, offers flood insurance both for homeowners and businesses. The policies are ultimately underwritten by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Policies are offered at prices that depend on the location of the risk, whether in a recognized flood-prone area or somewhere less susceptible to flooding. FEMA requires a 30-day waiting period before a policy goes into effect. The average cost for a homeowner, Wingstrand said, is $350 per year.
