Looking for auto and home insurance recommendation in Castle Rock, Colorado?

We will moving from Wisconsin to Castle Rock, CO in January, 2007. We are building a new home there. We would appreciate any auto and home insurance company recommendations & comments in that area for the best coverage & service at the lowest cost.
There are so many good home and auto insurers that to single any one out is a disservice to all of them.
If you currently have auto and homeowner's insurance in Wisconsin and you are happy with the company(s), then just ask your current agent for an agent recommendation for your new location.
Be prepared. Wisconsin is among the lowest priced states in the nation for auto insurance (Colorado used to be among the highest until it dropped No-Fault insurance a few years ago...not it is middle of the pack). And, Wisconsin is the cheapest state in the nation for its average homeowner's premiums.
So, you are likely looking a pretty healthy increase in your premiums no matter what company you pick.

I got great quotes for car and home insurance combined by colorado casualty insurance which is a member of liberty mutual ,any advice and experience with this company?
Reliable usually means, will they have money to pay my claim when claim time rolls around. For that, we go over to www.ambest.com to check the rating. Yes, it's an A rated company. So they're financially solvent, and likely admitted to do business in your state.
That's my definition of reliable.

We live in the Front Range of Colorado (1 hour west of Denver) and I have been told that home insurance companies don't want to cover us as the risk of fire is too great and therefore will use any reason to drop us.
That may be true. "Redlining" in the insurance industry is illegal. It means the insurance company cannot draw a circle on a map and refuse to insure anything inside the circle.
However, an insurance company is under no obligation to renew a policy if there is a change in hazard. Increased risk of forest fire is an increase in hazard. So it would be legal if your insurance company did not renew your policy.

In economic times like these, you expect to see sponsors bailing from discretionary spending, such as lucrative sponsorship contracts for the International Olympic Committee or the U.S. Olympic Committee. But the latest bail is one that'll hurt athletes directly. After a 16-year run, Home Depot Wednesday announced it's dropping its USOC sponsorship. That will leave a hole in the budgets of as many as 100 Olympic athletes. Over the years, Home Depot's Olympic jobs program has become a staple for many Olympic hopefuls. The company has paid full-time wages and benefits for part-time work, giving athletes more time to train. The program grew into a tradition in the Olympic community, helping athletes -- most of whom earn little money from sponsorship deals -- solve the problem of how to make a living and devote huge hours to training and other athletic endeavors. The program also gave the public a chance to rub elbows with elite athletes clad in orange aprons -- some of them the best in the world. Over the years, Home Depot says it employed 660 athletes, 300 of whom made Olympic and Paralympic teams, resulting in 150 medals -- 95 of them gold. Athletes currently in the program will be allowed to work part-time, or apply for full-time jobs as they come open.
