what is the best way to prepare for louisiana life and health insurance exam?
I have already taken a course which did not help me at all. My teacher was awful and just blew through the info and did not let us ask any questions. If there would have been some kind of discussion in class I would be able to relate to the information much better, but I am stuck just reading my book and making note cards. I take the exam on March 9th and have been studying my butt off. I have been taking practice test on the website by the school but I am stinking it up every time. The wording of the questions is throwing me off and the information is not sticking in my head. The person who hired me told me to just get through the test and get my license then forget everything because she will teach me all I need to know, but I have to pass the exam and I am horrible at standardized test. Any advice?
I have taught the GA, FL & AL pre-license course. I am sorry you had such a sorry instructor. It is important to have key words or phrases that help you recall the information. Some people are good test takers and some are not. I have had agents who knew the material forward and backward, but could not pass the test. They freeze. You can not let this happen. The tests are designed to be tricky. I always recommend you read the question, read all the answers, then go back and read the question again to make sure you understand what they are asking. MBR is right about the practice exams. If you can not get 80 to 90% on the practice exam, you will probably not pass the state exam. Some pre-license companies offer refresher courses at no cost if you failed the exam. Check with the one you used and if possible, take it over with a different instructor.
