Health Insurance Coverage In Wisconsin For The Lap Band System?

I have been researching having a lap band done in the state of Wisconsin. I am looking for any information on health insurance companies that do cover the procedure and how much they cover. I am also looking for anyone that has had experience with having the lap band done and what results they had. Thank you.

Unfortunately if depends on your insurance companies policies. A good place to look is http://www.obesityhelp.com/. People post there insurance information (regarding weightloss) and you can look it up. However, you will still have to go threw an extensive approval process.

I was self Pay, so I was fortunately as I didn't have to deal with approval. My insurance basically told me NO WAY, NEVER, PEROID. I had to cash out my 401K, but I figured if I didn’t do something I wouldn’t be around for retirement anyway. However, I would pay it again in a heart beat.

I had the band put in on May 12, 2008. It was the best thing I have ever decided to do in my life. I'm down 67lbs. I went from a BMI of 57 to 49 after 4 months (3 months after surgery and 1 month before). I have had to stop taking my blood pressure meds completely. I have had to reduce my CPAP from 15 to 13 then to 11. I went from taking Percocet (OxyContin and Tylenol) for my knees to taking Advil. I even walked the “ Big Dam Bridge ” this weekend, where I live (sorry I didn’t name the thing) It’s a ½ a mile long walking trail 600 feet high over the Murray Lock and Dam. I would never have been able to do that before. Even if I never lost another pound, I would do it all over again, but I would be disappointed if I didn’t loose more weight. I have only one regret, I’m a “I wont do this until I have all the facts” kind of guy. It took me a year to get over my own fear and to get the money together, before I got the band. I regret wasting a year that I could have been losing weight.

Where can you get health insurance with a low monthly payment in Wisconsin.?

I just lost my health insurance and am wondering where I can get health insurnace in wisconsin? I am 22 and healthy. I cannot pay alot per month so that is my main worry.

Sounds like you should just get a job so you stop worrying
about the money. In the mean time look into a short term insurance
through ehealthinsurance (info below) or mysimplecard. None
of them will break the bank if you choose right.

Are there any cheap health insurance programs in Wisconsin?

I am a college student who just moved out on her own and even though I work 40 hours, I still can't afford health insurance through my job. Are there any cheap insurances or aide?

Talk with you college there are programs there that can help. When I was in a similar situation I was able to get insurance through my college. It was cheap and much more comprehensive than anything I was able to get later.

For example the University of Wisconsin Madison has the SHIP program for any UW-Madison registered student. It costs $815 for coverage from 1/15 to 8/14 so a little over $100 a month

Obama Pushes States to Cover More Unemployed

By JONATHAN WEISMAN and LAURA MECKLER

President-elect Barack Obama's economic team is pressing ahead with a costly economic-stimulus plan despite a projected $1.2 trillion budget deficit this year.

The incoming administration is convinced that international lenders will be more likely to keep the U.S. government afloat if they see aggressive action to emerge from recession, and that the potential costs from insufficiently bold action are greater than the dangers of rising interest rates from swelling deficits.

And Mr. Obama appears ready to up the ante. In an interview with CNBC on Wednesday, he acknowledged that the plan's price tag, currently $775 billion, is likely to rise. "We've seen ranges from 800 [billion] to 1.3 trillion and our attitude was that given the legislative process, if we start towards the low end of that, we'll see how it develops," he said.

Mr. Obama and his senior economic aides confronted projections from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office on Wednesday that the federal deficit will reach $1.2 trillion in the fiscal year that ends Sept. 30. That would shatter the nominal dollar record of $455 billion set in fiscal 2008. Measured against the size of the economy, the deficit -- at 8.3% of gross domestic product -- is expected to eclipse the postwar record of 6% in 1983.
