What company offers a good affordable rate for car insurance in the state of Maryland?

I'm just moving out of Virginia into Maryland and I am very overwhelmed by the high premiums that I will have to pay oppose to the lower premiums that I was paying for 2 cars in Virginia.

Does anyone know a good cheap car insurance company?

Maryland has VERY high rates, if you're looking for something to compare to the VA rates . . you're not going to FIND it. There are just more losses, more traffic, and more lawsuits, that's all there is to it.

Your best bet is to go to one or two independent agents, ask them to get you 4-5 quotes EACH, and compare that way. But they're ALL going to be in the same ball park.

I'm 16 in Maryland and I want to know how much car insurance would be for me. I just got my license.
The car is a Range Rover

Are Virginia car insurance rates cheaper than Maryland's?

I live in the DC area and I'm trying to figure out the pros and cons of living in the Virginia or Maryland suburbs. I heard a rumor that if I move to Maryland, my insurance company will jack up the rates. Does that sound right? Why would the rates be higher just because I cross the state line?

Your insurance company is the only one that will know that...just ask them and tell them why you are asking ...they will help you. It is really very easy they just need both zip codes..

And yes it is very possible for rates to vary from state to state depending on the accid ratio for the area you live in....the insurance fraud they have and if they have alot of uninsured drivers that area....plus whether it is "the city" or the "country" makes a difference in rates also...less accidents in the country cause roads are not as congested, etc.

I would say location and driving history are 2 of the major factors when it comes to insurance....

Come on to Florida...your rates will triple...promise.:)

That depends on whether your company files for bankruptcy under Chapter 11, which would allow it to restructure, or under Chapter 7, which would shut down the company. In the case of Chapter 11, your benefits may not be affected, although it's more likely that you'll face cutbacks even if your company continues to operate. Under Chapter 7, your benefits would be terminated.

In either case, a number of laws protect the benefits you've already accrued and can help you find health coverage. For example, assets in your 401(k) must be held in a separate trust that neither an employer nor its creditors can touch. If your employer files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, it could continue to administer the 401(k) plan, but it may discontinue matching contributions. If the company closes, the 401(k) will be liquidated and the assets distributed to participants, after which you can roll over the money into an IRA.
