Pennsylvania car insurance prices?
Apr 13, 2007 by venusenvy71 | Posted in Insurance & Registration
We are contemplating moving to PA. What are the car insurance rates like there?
Depends on which part of PA you move to. You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did.

Car insurance lapsed in PA Pennsylvania 2 days past the 30 day deadline. Is it worth appealing to PENNDOT ?
Aug 17, 2008 by Dribbles | Posted in Insurance & Registration
My car insurance lapsed 2 days past the 30 day deadline in PA (Pennsylvania). I can either surrender the plates to the car for 3 months, or I can appeal at the Court of Common Pleas in my county, which will make an appeal to PENNDOT. Is there any hope of not having to turn my plates in? Are there any other alternatives?
I recommend you visit a local auto insurance agent to assist you. Since I live in Massachusetts I can't recommend anyone in Pennsylvania, but here is an resource that can help you. http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Free-Auto-Insurance-Quote.html
Good Luck.

Moving to Pennsylvania - how do i get car insurance?
Oct 07, 2008 by afish | Posted in Insurance & Registration
I recently moved to PA from NY. I have Allstate insurance on a rented car using my old address in NY. It expires in a little under a month. What do I do now? How do I go about getting new insurance? DO I have to go through the crazy process of getting PA plates? (I only plan on being here for 2 yrs - then I'm moving back to NY) BTW, my parents still live in NY. I'm not sure if that can help me.
Don't understand rented car..do you mean leased?
If you own, are buying or leasing a car, and the plates expire before you move back you would need to do something...
Depending on why you are in PA, you might be able to use your parents address for plates...
As far as insurance,, you call your insurance agent and tell him the story, he will either renew your policy, or refer you to an agency in PA...
